pics speak for themselves....awwwww!!!!!

From: Friday July 25

Today I went to Kids Help Phone for my 2nd time to help out in the office and such. Unfortunately I couldn't help out with any special events becuz A) Not enough time, and stuff is happening AFTER I leave. + B) Without some kind of background check, I ain't allowed to work with kids so no helping out at any presentations at camps or other kid-related events. So last time I was there....I shredded paper for them....A box and a half of it....yay for me! lol. But it was nice to see what happened here, 2nd time around I made phone calls to try and sell some coupon books....yea that wasn't so great cuz most #s didn't answer or machine picked up. And also both times I wasn't able to meet the head of the office cuz she was away. But I got cooperate with the lovely Val Mayne, volunteer coordinator there. She gave me great tips of where to go in the city and even helped me get directions, which was very kind of her....oh and also since there were literally tons of chocolate bars, I took a whole bunch (what a great reward 4 volunteering!!! LOL) Anywho it was a short day at KHP which I ended with a nice photo op with Val and the nice building that it's in.
So rite after I decided to go to UBC (Universtiy of British Columbia) and check out the campus there since everybody was raving about it to me and telling me that it was a must-see and boy was it strange or what. I only got there around 4:30-4:45 or so and by that time all the good stuff had already shut down (like Botanical Garden, Museum of Anthropology) so I wandered around to the beautiful Rose Garden and I also VLOGGED about my experience as i was....well....experiencing it (2nd vid takes place 1hr after the 1st).
It was pretty interesting becuz it did not look like a university campus at all, part of the reason was along the fringes of the campus, apparently there's private neighbourhoods occupied by, and I'm theorizing here, non-students with families, I still don't understand. Oh and I also passed by some kind of protest monument thingy wherer there were sort of anti-establishment statements scrawled all over the thing....which I found some of the statements to be very interesting concepts....or am I just overthinking things? A good 3hrs later, and I was off to finish my evening at the local LGbt youth group GAB, at the "the Centre" where I would not rather have witnessed a game of DIRTY SCRABBLE....thats rite....check out the pics and vlog (no I did not document Dirty Scrabble) for all my foolishness!

From Sat July 19 + Monday July 21

Last Sat. Kristine asked me to go out for a nite out with her "work buddies" and we were gonna go to some str8 bar/club...bleh! j/k. So we met up with her colleagues and went lookin' for the club, got to where one person thought it would be but there was nothing but an empty lot. Which begs the question.....what happened?! Was it aliens? Was it a government conspiracy or was it plain ol' absent-mindedness? Anyone who guessed the 1st 2...wrong! But the person was sure it was there since the last time he was there ohhhh....LAST YEAR! So we asked some valet guys around the area (cuz we were around a sports stadium, 4get which one) and they said it had closed down a while ago. Way to go Kristine's buddy!
Then we walked towards main downtown where the real party central was, Gastown (equivalent to Old Montreal....sort of). Not knowing what to do, Kristine suggested a lesbo club; "Lick" that was real close in the area (yea apparently not everything gay is confined to the Gay Village here, which actually has a name "Davie Village") So we walked up to there which was around 9:45pm maybe....i dunno. Kristine saw some ppl she knew, exchanged a few words. Then her buddies decided to go have a drink 1st b4 LICK opened, went down the street to one of the most busiest pubs in the area (that nite was no exception, it was jam-packed, we had to stand....well we had our moment on their patio for 5 min until they decided to close the patio and shove every1 inside) So we got stamped to get into a dumb pub, which u'll see is the orange/reddish stamp in one pic.
Kristine was kind enough to get herself and I Bacardi thingies (they were flavored, orange something or other) which tasted real good (well maybe, tasted more like juice than alcohol) After finishing our drinks we headed back out to LICK, where it was finally opened (think it only opened at 11 or something) but one of K's buddies decided to call it a nite, while the other one took forever to get inside cuz he was too busy chattin' away on the fone. Kristine and I went in 1st and sat around for a bit, once her friend Cal came in,
Me and K danced for a little bit (but things got boring for me very fast...so it was yet another strange nite for me) and then later on apparently there was DYKE DRAMA, when K's X showed up and K wanted to clarify some issues with her....but it ended well when K got some chick's #....yea go KB!!! Altho surprisingly for a lesbo club (which was very small btw, and ironically the hand stamp for the club are lips) there were a few men there (thank god!) but this place was pretty small. So I caught K in action with Cal there...pretty hilarious stuff. After 2 hrs tho we left and had to walk ALL THE WAY back to K's place cuz she didn't know when the bus was gonna show....so bored and tired on top of walking from downtown to K's was pretty messed up!

So Monday afterwards, I went out to one of the tourist attractions around here; Granville Island (which isn't really an island at all) and walked around all over to see what good stuff was there, what can i say that I haven't said, another cool experience. Shops scattered all over the place, including a toy complex, there was a concrete factory, Granville Island Public Market, even an art school there....so much to do, so much to see, so little time. I did pick up a nice ring while I was there from a shop of gemstones and crystals aptly called "The Crystal Ark" so thats one souvenir worth getting since it was only 1$ and it wasn't one of those cheap 1$ things either, it was actually really nice. Also got to experience a ferry ride (altho it wasn't one of those actual ferries, it was a mini one I guess u could say where I got to take a mini-cruise for 27min only around the surrounding area for like 6$. During the ferry ride I saw the cutest pug and had to take a pic of her. Unfortunately i couldn't snap a good one of K and I on the ferry but I got some cool shots of the ferry and on, and also of the area in and around Granville Island....I especially love the shot of K and I standing....I find it to be a REALLY nice pic of us. the nicest even (considering the sun's shining in my eyes and i 4got my sunglasses that day!!!)
Oh and I also caught a funny moment on video, where a group of ppl on the water were practising "dragon-boating". Why is it that they have to shout and count?? Anywho K&I ended our day in Davie Village at diner Denny's (I suspect it's the euivalent to Mtl's Nickels) where I got a random shot of Kristine........ahhh fun times fun times
