From: Friday July 25

Today I went to Kids Help Phone for my 2nd time to help out in the office and such. Unfortunately I couldn't help out with any special events becuz A) Not enough time, and stuff is happening AFTER I leave. + B) Without some kind of background check, I ain't allowed to work with kids so no helping out at any presentations at camps or other kid-related events. So last time I was there....I shredded paper for them....A box and a half of it....yay for me! lol. But it was nice to see what happened here, 2nd time around I made phone calls to try and sell some coupon books....yea that wasn't so great cuz most #s didn't answer or machine picked up. And also both times I wasn't able to meet the head of the office cuz she was away. But I got cooperate with the lovely Val Mayne, volunteer coordinator there. She gave me great tips of where to go in the city and even helped me get directions, which was very kind of her....oh and also since there were literally tons of chocolate bars, I took a whole bunch (what a great reward 4 volunteering!!! LOL) Anywho it was a short day at KHP which I ended with a nice photo op with Val and the nice building that it's in.
So rite after I decided to go to UBC (Universtiy of British Columbia) and check out the campus there since everybody was raving about it to me and telling me that it was a must-see and boy was it strange or what. I only got there around 4:30-4:45 or so and by that time all the good stuff had already shut down (like Botanical Garden, Museum of Anthropology) so I wandered around to the beautiful Rose Garden and I also VLOGGED about my experience as i was....well....experiencing it (2nd vid takes place 1hr after the 1st).
It was pretty interesting becuz it did not look like a university campus at all, part of the reason was along the fringes of the campus, apparently there's private neighbourhoods occupied by, and I'm theorizing here, non-students with families, I still don't understand. Oh and I also passed by some kind of protest monument thingy wherer there were sort of anti-establishment statements scrawled all over the thing....which I found some of the statements to be very interesting concepts....or am I just overthinking things? A good 3hrs later, and I was off to finish my evening at the local LGbt youth group GAB, at the "the Centre" where I would not rather have witnessed a game of DIRTY SCRABBLE....thats rite....check out the pics and vlog (no I did not document Dirty Scrabble) for all my foolishness!
