So folks, it's officially been a week I've been in Vancouver, BC aka not in Montreal for those of you who haven't noticed. What a day I've had! Originally I was supposed to go check out UBC (University of British Columbia) but those plans fell thru when the person who was supposed to drive me couldn't do it. So then I ended up downtown while Kristine worked around there and I explored a part of the city some more. First I went to a great resource: Tourist Info! It was like a whole centre full of.......you guessed it TOURIST INFO!!! There were maps and pamphlets for everywhere imaginable so I got a whole bunch of reading material to last the entire time I'm here. JEEZZZZ!!!!
So after info centre, I got dropped off at a beautiful tourist attraction and all around good-to-be-there place called Stanley park. Beautiful beautiful! As i said, last time i was there it was in the dark, and now in broad daylight i got to enjoy the pleasurable (is that even a word?) views of everything. I seriously loved how pretty it was. I hopped on a free trolley tour thingy that went around the whole park stopping at certain points of interest and I snapped a whole bunch of pics so now EVERYONE can enjoy the beautiful sights I've seen! Basically Stanley Park is like Mount Royal, except it's not. On a mountain that is. It surrounds a body of water which goes all the way out to the Pacific Ocean which is pretty cool and within the park there's this thing called the Sea Wall on the edge of the water, where ppl can walk all the way around it (which would probably take 2 hrs+) and right beside the walkway there's a bikepath and right near the park u can rent rollerblades or bikes to go around it on or even around the city so that's pretty cool becuz I would totally love take a bike around there. Also within the park there's trails, different clubs (i.e: yacht club, lawn bowling club etc.) even Beaver Lake!! (we have Beaver Lake in Mtl too! R they like related?!), beaches, swimming pool/kiddy water park, and most fascinating, although I wouldn't know, the Vancouver Aquarium which I have yet to check out but definitely is on my list.
There's also this interesting part called the "Lost Lagoon" where (it doesn't happen anymore) there's one part of the shore/water that in the morning, it would completely dry up and just be like rocks and stuff but by afternoon it would have filled up with water! Too bad we can't see that no more. There's also alot of monuments on the water one of which I caught on pic, also beautiful angle shot of the Lion's Gate Bridge again. There were also horse-drawn trolleys (where horses would pull a big "carriage" or whatever, filled with up to 20 ppl) poor horsies!!! Pulling all that weight during this heat! Yea apparently we're having pretty good weather here right now, no rain since I got here, Jus sun and heat, reaching up to 33 the other day! A record for BC! Very unusual, so does that mean I'm a good OMEN for this place?!?!
So after the free trolley (the horseless one) I tried to get off, but it was so full, ppl didn't know how to move and I got trapped and didn't get off where I was supposed to, so I spent a half hour wandering around looking for the exit/entrance of the park, but I did pass thru another attraction of the park during that time, the rose gardens, which was again a beautiful sight, and I also snapped a pic of myself with the skyline. After escaping the park, I made my way downtown which wasn't too far away and I used the city map I had just acquired from the info place, where I found Davie Village (Vancouver's LGBT "district"), walked around there (much larger than Montreal's I must say, although I have yet to discover if it's better) , starving cuz I didn't each much since I came out, went into different shops including one called "Little Sisters" which was like a gay novelty shop filled with books, pamphlets, souvenirs, info and alot of......ahem......adult things. So after being shocked I made my way back outside where I passed a Shoppers Drug Mart (=Pharmaprix in Montreal, even same symbol), where I found a sale!! on what u ask?! Pepsi and 7Up, $1.99 for 6 bottles! I had to snatch it up cuz it was so worth it!! But then I ended up wandering around some more looking for a bus to get back to Kristine's carrying those 12 sodas, not fun, very draining. An hour and half, 12 blocks and 4 different bus stops later I finally found the correct bus to take me home where I settled in relaxin' from my seemingly long and adventurous day!!!! HOLY MOLY THIS ENTRY WAS LONG!!!!!! SO SORRY IF ANYONE READ THIS, sometimes I just get too talkative!!!! Anyway pics from today will be coming in next post!!!!! Until then..............

HAPPY CANADA DAY FOLKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here's some pics that i've taken since I've been here! Some shots of a bridge that u'll see is called Lion's Gate Bridge, Kristine's very generous friend decided to drive us around part of the city on Wednesday night so that's where the nite shots are from. We went around Stanley Park, it was hard to see but what you could see was amazing pics of the surrounding mountains and of the Bridge but today I got to be there in daylight so it was much more beautiful but that's for the next entry. And I talked about East Side Pride that happened on Saturday, now here are some images to clarify the words. Be Warned! Fat Ass in photos may offend!!! And doesn't Kristine have such lovely angles??? Don't u just loooooooooove those BUG EYE SUNGLASSES!! Also, there were outdoor free concerts so many bands/musicians performed, one of them "Werewolves of Creston" did a cover of Britney Spears which I found hilarious because it turned into a fast rock song LMAO! So i caught a snippet to share with the world!! Oh and there's one random pic of where I'm staying, I have my own bedroom! Heehee!!!!
