From Saturday July 26

So my days here are winding down, and last nite was a good nite to help send me off with fireworks!!! Of course they weren't especially for me, it was Vancouver's Celebration of Light Competition (their (short) Fireworks festival) that started July 23 with Canada and ends on Aug 2...which I'll miss. But I did catch 2nite's event which was an entry from good ol' US of A. Most moments I managed to capture on camera, it was pretty cool. Can't say it measures up to Mtl's but also can't say it doesn't. I also met Kristine's "protege", which she brought with us to fireworks. Ok more like "little sister" , not bio of course. Kristine's mentoring this 9yo from the program Big Sisters...yea I know! Kristine? A mentor?? All she might b able to teach the poor child is how to be angry haha!!!
Speaking of which, we did get into a lil kerfuffle on the way to the fireworks. Well it was mostly K complaining about how I don't know what I'm doing blah blah blah. I tried to hold back any response but when she started to blame me for things that I didn't do, I had to tell her to stop playing the blame game. It was because we had to take 1 bus and then get off at a certain point and transfer to another and then we'd end up at our destination (Kits Beach, which we never arrived at btw, we ended up somewhere else that we weren't even aware of) Obviously I don't know my way around here, so I researched which buses to take and where to get off. I showed K the directions and what buses to take, and she was all like "Oh yea, I know where to go, I know which buses they are" (had to take 135 somewhere and then transfer to 22) So I left it up to her to lead the way, but I made sure to ask her if she was sure she knew like 5 times b4 we left her place. She said yes, so off we went, took the 135 and this is where the "terror" begins.
Kristine ended up 4getting where to get off (and airhead I am, I 4get too because I thought that Kristine knew her way enough 2 lead) fortunately, (or unfortunately for Kristine) I remembered that we were supposed to get off on Howe (but Kristine led us to get off on a completely different stop) but I didn't remember the cross-street. So Kristine is getting worked up as usual, speeding everywhere even when she doesn't know where she's going, all while blaming me and saying how I don't know how to read, and that I must be wrong (which btw yet again, I wasn't!) and I was like "calm down". So apparently the whole situation was my fault, and yet who asked a street vendor 4 directions and she pointed just down the block from where we were and said 22, the exact bus we were looking for but apparently Kristine said wasn't the one we were supposed to take? Who knew the rite bus to get to our destination but got turned down by rage-y woman? You betcha! So after asking for directions Kristine shut rite up when she heard she was wrong (but didn't admit it as usual, but turns out 22 didn't even run after 9/9:30pm, and we ended up taking another bus) but we caught the fireworks just in the nick of time literally, we were steps away from the "viewpoint" which was not Kits Beach but some random waterfront park cuz beach was further down than we ended up.
So in the end, it was all good, the fireworks were great, good start to kicking off my last days here. Kristine wasn't as outrageous as I may make it out to be nor did it turn into any kind of match, she just got too easily frustrated and annoyed. Also blaming me for something I didn't do didn't help either. She tends to do that tho, jumps to blame someone rite away and doesn't matter the consequences....so that was my evening out, which, considering the way it began didn't end too badly. Check out the vids and pics to see the cool action!!!
